"Bach" - Bassbarr Bach to Basics

Bach is the male half of the recently imported brother and sister from Bill O'Loughlin

of Bassbarr kennels in the UK.

Bach is one of the most solid and heavily boned pups we have seen at this age and we hope

that judges will recognise the importance of not only this feature of his, but also the fact he is

so well constructed all-around.

Entering a show-ring near you soon !

"Ellie" - Bassbarr Tango at Dowjac

Ellie comes out of quarantine on Wednesday 12th January and after a little training she will hit the showring.

We believe she has a big future here as she has a strength, the substance and the solid bone which

has been lacking somewhat in many bitches today.

More news to follow !

Aust Ch Dowjac Miss Kay Keelula -

"Lulu" is currently our top bitch.

We chose to use Aust Gd Ch, Multi Int'l Ch Morningwood Beaumont , over our Aust Gd Ch Dowjac Venus,

and although there was only one puppy it was a succesful mating in our eyes.

Lulu will be the foundation bitch for our future show teams, to be used with her cousin (and our current top dog)

Aust Ch Dowjac Andre theGiant (Sire: Aust Gd Ch Dowjac Gentleman Jim), this will ensure the continuation

of the bloodline of one of the most succesful Bassets in Australian show history, Aust Gd Ch Jimetta Loxley.

In the near future, Lulu, as well as our other show Bitch  Dowjac Jim Stone, will be mated with our new import,
"Virgilio De Pinadam" (aka Virgil) from Spain, an exciting young tri-colour Basset.

Aust Ch Dowjac Andre theGiant:

"Andre" is maturing nicely and has recently been recognised by top International Judges (and basset specialists) for the fine dog he is, with a "Best in Group" win over a very strong field, as well as multiple "Class in Group" wins.

Whilst Andre is slightly more compact than the usual "typey" Basset currently filling the show rings, according to the Standard, he is technically close to ideal. His movement is fluid and effortless and he actually leads ME around the ring !

Strong and muscular, with excellent length of rib and extremely true and strong topline, Andre is a fine example of what a great bloodline, selective line breeding and a purpose built home can produce.

Virgilio De Pinadam:

"Virgil" has taken a long time to get here to Australia, thanks to our country's very rigorous quarantine laws.

"Virgil is our first ever import and it is amazing what a difference there is between the average "Australian Basset" and the FCI version from the Southern area of the European Continent.

Our young boy has some fine dogs in his background, from both the Bassbar and van Hollandheim Kennels and we are very keen to introdcue those lines into ours and see what we can develop here in Australia.

Whilst he still has some maturing to do both physically and mentally, he looks nic on the move and will gradually make his mark here.

Dowjac Haystack Calhoon (AI)

"Red" is one of the new "Young guns" in the Dowjac Show team... making an impressive start to what will hopefully be a long and rewarding career!

Dowjac Miss Frances (AI)

"Frances" has joined the show-team, along with her brother "Red".

They are the best of friends and amazingly like their Grandparents,

"Aust Gd Ch Dowjac Gentleman Jim" and "Aust Gd Ch Dowjac Venus",

both out of Dowjac Kennels Fabuolous multi Best in show winner "Locky".

While "Frances" is sytill very much the young girl, she is slowly emerging out of

her shell when away from the "safety" of her play-world here at home (where she is a bundle of excited energy !).

We are expecting big things for "Frances" as it has been a while since a bitch of her type has been around.... roughly since her Grand-mother was retired !
